Launched within the Annual Congress of ESC 2009 (Barcelona), the program Stent for Life is a joint initiative of the European Association of Interventional Cardiology (EAPCI) which is member of the European Society of Cardiology and of EuroPC.
Stent for Life is a unique platform in Europe, proposing to improve patients’ with myocardial infarction access to the right treatment according to each person’s identified myocardial affection.

Stent for Life objectives:
• Raising the pPCI utilization degree for more than 70% patients with STEMI
• Raising the pPCI degree on over 600 patients/a million of habitants
• Offering assistance 24/7 in order to balance the treatment needs of the all patients with STEMI
Stent for Life is currently conducted in 15 countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Portugal, Turkey, Spain, Italy, France, Serbia, Egypt, Romania, Russia, Tunisia, Ukraine and Greece.
Romania is among these countries due to winning a grant from the European Society of Cardiology for the local implementation of the ACT NOW. SAVE A LIFE campaign.
